Growing Together: A New Chapter for One Small Act Miami County

At One Small Act Miami County, we often say that community is built through small acts of kindness repeated over and over again. Lately, those small acts have been adding up to something truly incredible.

Over the past few weeks, we officially moved into our new space at the Stouder Center, and we are still overwhelmed by the support we received during our open house celebration. Seeing community members, partners, volunteers, and supporters walk through our doors reminded us why this work matters so deeply. Our new space is more than an office — it is a place where people can gather, feel safe, access resources, and experience belonging.

This move also allows us to continue growing programs that directly serve our neighbors across Miami County.

One of the most exciting updates is the future expansion of our Meal in a Bag program. Thanks to generous funding from The Miami County Foundation and the impACT Award, we will be able to provide even more meals to families and individuals facing food insecurity. These grants are helping turn compassion into action and ensuring that more people have access to reliable, easy-to-prepare meals when they need them most.

We are also still reflecting on the success of the American Empathy Project. Thanks to support from the American Humanist Association and our amazing community partners, we were able to provide meals, oral hygiene kits and period kits to 100 Miami County families. The project was a reminder that empathy is not just a feeling — it is something we practice through action, connection, and care for one another.

As we continue growing, our mission remains the same: meeting people where they are with dignity, kindness, and community support. None of this would be possible without the volunteers, donors, grant partners, and community members who believe in creating a more compassionate Miami County.

We are excited for what comes next, and we are grateful to have all of you alongside us on this journey.
