why small acts still matter
There are moments when I pause, take a breath, and look around at what we’ve built together—and I’m overwhelmed with gratitude.
One Small Act Miami County started with a simple belief: that kindness doesn’t have to be loud or grand to change lives. It just has to be real. One meal. One conversation. One neighbor showing up for another.
Over time, that belief turned into action. It turned into outdoor movies under the stars where strangers became friends. It turned into meals packed with care and delivered with dignity. It turned into volunteers who show up week after week, not because they have to, but because they want to.
As President, I often get asked how we do so much with so little. The truth is, we don’t do it alone. Everything we accomplish is the result of a community choosing compassion over convenience, connection over isolation.
This space, From the Heart of One Small Act, is where I’ll share reflections like these—stories of impact, lessons learned, moments of gratitude, and honest thoughts about what it takes to serve a community with integrity and care. Sometimes it will be celebratory. Sometimes it will be vulnerable. But it will always be rooted in love for this community.
As we look ahead, my hope is simple: that we continue to grow without losing sight of why we started. That we keep choosing people. That we remember small acts are never small to the person receiving them.
How You Can Help
If this work speaks to you, I invite you to consider supporting it. Your donation helps us pack more meals, host free community events, and continue showing up for families right here in Miami County. Every contribution—no matter the size—creates a ripple of kindness that reaches further than you may ever see.
Thank you for believing in this mission. Thank you for believing in people. And thank you for reminding me, again and again, that kindness is revolutionary.
